A group of local residents, known as the Logan County Patriots, unveiled a roadside sign along U.S. 33 on Wednesday to honor the late Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA.
The sign can be seen if headed west on US 33 between County Road 10 and State Route 540 outside Bellefontaine.
Bellefontaine resident Julia Cook, who’s part of the group, shared her thoughts:
“It’s what Charlie was all about—he loved this country! He really was an American hero. Also, even more important, he loved to talk about his faith. Charlie loved his Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The sign serves as a tribute to Kirk’s unwavering patriotism and deep Christian faith.
Kirk passed away just one week ago, after being fatally shot during a Turning Point USA event.
At the time of the shooting, he was engaged in a debate with a student about mass shootings in the United States.
The alleged assailant, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and multiple counts of obstruction of justice and witness tampering.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in this case.
In the wake of Kirk’s death, tributes have poured in from across the nation, reflecting the impact he had on conservative activism and his community.
