Drivers in Logan County should prepare for a new round of road construction projects set to begin Monday, May 19, along several state routes.
These projects, managed by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), are part of ongoing efforts to improve road conditions and infrastructure throughout the region.
Work will continue throughout the summer.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s new and what’s continuing:
New Projects Starting May 19th
State Route 273 – Between U.S. 68 and the Union/Logan County line
- Single-lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
- Repaving work expected to last through September
- Traffic will be managed by flaggers
State Route 274 – Between U.S. 68 and Sandusky Street
- Intermittent lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Repaving project running through September
- Flagging operation in place to direct traffic
State Route 292 – From Hamilton Street to State Route 47
- Daily single-lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Repaving work scheduled through September
- Traffic will be maintained with flaggers on-site
Ongoing Projects
State Route 47 – Closed between County Road 35 and Township Road 21A
- Closure in effect through May 2025
- Crews are repairing the concrete bridge deck
- Detour in place via State Route 235 north to State Route 274 west to Main Street/SR 65
State Route 273 (Bridge Replacement) – Between Oakridge Drive and Shady Lane
- One-lane traffic continues through July 18
- Temporary traffic signal managing flow
- Bridge replacement currently underway
U.S. Route 33 (U.S. 33) – Between State Route 540 and State Route 117
- Ongoing lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily
- Project continues through July
- One lane remains open in each direction during resurfacing
All scheduled work is weather-dependent.
ODOT encourages drivers to allow extra travel time, remain alert in work zones, and follow posted signs and signals.
