Logan County Road Closure Announcement:
The Logan County Engineer’s Office has announced a road closure for a profile improvement project on County Road 18.
The closure will be in effect from August 19, 2024, through September 13, 2024.
This project aims to enhance road safety by improving sightlines on County Road 18 and the intersecting roads.
The intersection with Township Road 200 will remain open, but the road segment south of this intersection will be closed to all traffic.
Detour routes are marked and include County Road 43, CR 31, and County Road 11.

State Route Construction Updates:
- State Route 508 Culvert Replacement:
– Current Closure: State Route 508 is closed between Cornish Drive and Meadow Lane from August 19 to August 23, 2024, for culvert replacement. The detour routes are U.S. 68 to State Route 47 West to State Route 235 South. Tractor trailers are advised to use the truck route through Bellefontaine. - State Route 245 Culvert Replacement:
-Ongoing Closure: State Route 245 is closed between State Route 287 and Township Road 175 from August 5 to August 16, 2024. Detour routes are State Route 507 to State Route 68 N to State Route 245 East (Northbound) and State Route 68 S to State Route 245 East (Southbound). - Upcoming State Route 508 Closure:
-Future Closure: State Route 508 will be closed between County Road 31 S and Township Road 202 from August 26 to August 30, 2024, for additional culvert work. Detours will be in place via State Route 235 North to State Route 47 East to U.S. 68 South (Eastbound) and U.S. 68 North to State Route 47 West to State Route 235 South (Westbound). Tractor trailers must use the truck route through Bellefontaine. - State Route 235 Railroad Crossing Closure:
– Upcoming Closure: State Route 235 will be closed between New Street and Mill Street from September 16 to August 30, 2024, for railroad crossing repairs. The detour includes State Route 29 East to State Route 296 East to U.S. 68 North to State Route 508 West to State Route 235.
Helms and Sons Excavating will start roadway milling and asphalt resurfacing as part of the Russells Point Storm Water Drainage Project restoration phase.
This work is set to begin on Thursday, August 22, 2024, weather permitting.
The roads scheduled for restoration include Lincoln Boulevard, Garfield Avenue, Madison Avenue, Grand Avenue, and Fairview Avenue. While traffic will be maintained, drivers should anticipate delays. Madison Avenue from State Route 708 to Garfield Avenue may be temporarily closed if necessary.
Residents are advised to avoid the construction zones when possible. Although crews will work to ensure timely access to parking areas, there may be temporary delays and restricted access during the construction period.
