The Logan County Engineer’s Office announces that The Shelly Company will begin resurfacing several county roads starting Tuesday, May 27, 2025, weather permitting.

Construction will take place daily between 7:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. and will be limited to emergency vehicles and local traffic only (no through traffic).

County Road 142 in Bokescreek Township – Lane Closure for Asphalt Repair

Crews from The Shelly Company will be repairing a northbound lane section of asphalt on County Road 142 between the north side of the railroad tracks in West Mansfield and the south side of the bridge before Township Road 123.

This work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 27, 2025, through Friday, May 30, 2025, from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. each day.

One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times, and no overnight closures are expected.

Other Resurfacing Projects

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through these areas due to unmarked no-passing zones and drop-offs along the road edges.

Butt joints will also be cut at intersections and bridges prior to paving, which may create bumps in the road.

Drivers should slow down to 15 miles per hour or less in these areas.

Several ongoing road construction projects are expected to impact traffic across Logan County in the coming weeks, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

  • State Route 47 remains closed between County Road 35 and Township Road 21A for concrete bridge deck repairs, with the closure scheduled to last through the end of May. A posted detour uses State Route 235, SR 274, and Main Street/State Route 65.
  • On State Route 273, a lane closure remains in place between Oakridge Drive and Shady Lane for bridge replacement, with traffic maintained via a temporary signal through July 18.
  • U.S. Route 33 is under lane restrictions between State Route 540 and State Route 117 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for resurfacing, with one lane open in each direction.
  • Intermittent lane closures are occurring on State Route 273 (between U.S. 68 and the Union/Logan County line), State Route 274 (between U.S. 68 and Sandusky Street), and State Route 292 (between Hamilton Street and State Route 47) for roadway repaving.

These projects are active from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and are managed with flagging operations.

All work is weather-dependent and is expected to continue into September.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use caution in work zones.
