After months of hands-on work and years of planning, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office is ready to officially introduce the Logan County Animal Shelter to the community.
Although the shelter has been operating since January, officials say they wanted to ensure the facility was fully complete and functioning before opening its doors to the public.
The Sheriff’s Office, Dog Warden Jake Boyd, along with the Logan County Commissioners, announced plans for a grand opening celebration set for March 6, 2026.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 4 p.m., hosted in partnership with the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.
The ceremony will be followed by a community open house from 4 to 7 p.m., giving residents a chance to tour the new facility and meet the staff.
Boyd notes that adoptable animals are already being featured online HERE, allowing the public to view available pets in advance.
Adoptions are handled by appointment to ensure each animal receives individualized attention and the best possible placement.
The Logan County Animal Shelter is located on the grounds of the Sheriff’s Office and Jail at 284 County Road 32 South in Bellefontaine.
Community members are encouraged to attend the grand opening and learn more about how the new shelter will serve both animals and residents across Logan County.
