Today’s Logan County Spotlight is on food pantries.

There are lots of places around Logan County that help those in need, including help with food.

In Bellefontaine you can find:

  • Second Harvest Food Bank Mobile Pantry will be at the Logan County Fairgrounds on Saturday, November 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a Holiday Giveaway. On Wednesday, November 22 from noon to 1:00 p.m. the Second Harvest Food Bank Mobile Pantry will be at Community Health & Wellness Partners located on 212 East Columbus Avenue. For seniors or those without transportation, Emergency Food Box Deliveries are available. Call (937) 325-8715 ext. 103 to schedule.
  • Lutheran Community Services (Our Daily Bread) recently moved to a new location and is now located at 820 West Sandusky Avenue. Open Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Our Daily Bread offers dine-in and carry-out meals. You can pick up sack lunches (including breakfast) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or eat a warm meal from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Emergency food services are also offered, Director Kim Collum, talks about food boxes offered at Lutheran Community Services:

  • St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Patrick Catholic Church is located at 316 East Patterson Avenue. This food pantry is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to noon and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Patrick Catholic Church accepts donated items and monetary donations, as well as volunteers regardless of church affiliation.   • The Heart to Hands Food Pantry at Bellefontaine First Church of God, located at 1000 East Brown Avenue, is at the bus barn in the east corner of the parking lot. This food pantry is open the second Tuesday of each month from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Call (937) 592-2546 for more information.
  • Caring Friends – Bellefontaine Seventh-Day Adventist Church is located at 1910 County Road 130. They are open every fourth Tuesday of each month from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Call (937) 592-1228 for more information.
  • Wake Up the World Ministries is located at 600 East Brown Avenue. This food pantry is open on the last Friday of each month from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. If you have any questions or would like to help with this ministry, call Janet Sexton at (937) 441-5189 or Heather Wright at (937) 441-5168.
  • LifeCare Alliance’s Meals-on-Wheels program is for those who are homebound. The Meals-on-Wheels program operates in five counties in Central Ohio—Champaign, Franklin, Logan, Madison, and Marion.   • LifeCare Alliance’s Meals-on-Wheels program is for those who are homebound. The Meals-on-Wheels program operates in five counties in Central Ohio—Champaign, Franklin, Logan, Madison, and Marion.
