Judge Jacob Estes has announced that there is extra money in the Indigent Driver Alcohol Treatment (IDAT) Fund.

This money will now be used to expand mental health and addiction services in Logan County.

The IDAT Fund supports treatment for people convicted of OVI (Operating a Vehicle under the Influence) who can’t afford it.

With extra funds available, the court worked with local partners to create new services that meet IDAT guidelines while addressing broader mental health and addiction needs.

Judge Estes collaborated with Chief Municipal Court Probation Officer Mike Madigan, Sheriff Randy Dodds, Recovery Zone Director Kathy Zeller, Peer Support Specialist Dougie Boggs, and Dr. Adam Sorensen of the MHDAS Board to develop the expanded services.

“This new partnership is an example of the kind of collaboration that strengthens the local network of care and improves service outcomes. The MHDAS Board extends its gratitude to Judge Estes and Mike Madigan for their leadership, and everyone involved in seeing this come to fruition,” Sorensen said.

The expanded services aim to close treatment gaps and strengthen Logan County’s behavioral health system without requiring additional funding.
