This Memorial Day weekend, history comes alive at the 45th Annual Logan Hills Festival, a beloved community celebration held at Hall-Fawcett Park in Zanesfield.
The event runs throughout the holiday weekend and offers a rich blend of historical reenactments, Native American culture, traditional crafts, live music, and family-friendly competitions — all in honor of the region’s deep-rooted heritage.
One of the festival’s signature highlights is the Taloga Outdoor Drama, an all-volunteer theatrical production that tells the story of Native Americans and early pioneers who settled in the Ohio Valley hills near Zanesfield.
Set against the natural landscape of Hall-Fawcett Park along the Mad River, the drama includes historical moments such as Blue Jacket’s capture, the Battle of Fallen Timbers, and the Treaty of Greenville.
Taloga Drama Showtimes:
- Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
- Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
- Monday at 2:00 p.m.
Festival admission is free, with activities and attractions running throughout the weekend.
Visitors can explore a recreated Fur Trade Era Rendezvous Encampment (circa 1840), where reenactors in period dress demonstrate early frontier life, including mountain men, fur traders, and Native Americans.
The Native Woodland Gathering will feature authentic music, dancing, and cultural demonstrations celebrating Native American heritage.
