Benjamin Logan High School students stepped into a magical evening on Saturday as they gathered at The Grange Hall in Richwood for their 2025 prom, themed “A Starry Night.”
The festivities didn’t end there, After Prom took place at the Hilliker YMCA.
The highlight of the evening came with the announcement of the 2025 Prom King and Queen: Carter Lyden and Kate Gulick.
Prom King: Carter Lyden
Carter is the son of TJ and Kae Lynn Lyden of Belle Center.
Throughout high school, he has participated in both soccer and baseball and is actively involved in a wide range of school organizations, including:
- Student Government
- National Honor Society
- Fellowship of Christian Athletes
- Champions Together
- RAID
- Teens for Christ
He was also recognized with the Raider Award in baseball.
When asked about who has inspired him most, Carter said:
“My parents, my brother, Mrs. Freehauf, and Mr. Goldstein. My parents have taught me how to act and respect others. My brother has led by example. Mr. Goldstein and Mrs. Freehauf have helped me express my religion and led by the example of being a good Christian.”
After graduation, Carter will attend Bowling Green State University to major in Athletic Administration.
Prom Queen: Kate Gulick
Kate, daughter of Beth and Brian Gulick, has a list of extracurricular involvement that is extensive, including:
- Varsity Soccer and Softball
- National Honor Society
- Show Choir and Marching Band
- Yearbook
- Student Government
- Quiz Bowl
- Science Club
- Spanish Club
- Drama Club
- Art Club
Kate has earned:
- CBC Athlete of the Month
- Honors Diploma Recipient
- National School Choral Award
- Selection to the Congressional Art Show
- Multiple awards for her artwork
She credits Coach Coder, Mrs. Hemmelgarn, and Kristy Daniels as her biggest inspirations and supporters throughout high school.
Kate will also be attending Bowling Green State University, where she plans to major in Early Childhood Education with a possible minor in Spanish.
