According to Champaign County Municipal Court records, 38-year-old Anthony Lyons of DeGraff was arraigned Monday on charges including using weapons while intoxicated, aggravated menacing, domestic violence, theft of a firearm, and tampering with evidence.
Lyons was given a court-appointed attorney.
During the arraignment, the judge set a $10,000 aggregate bond and imposed several restrictions, including a ban on possessing firearms, using drugs or alcohol, and having no contact with Anthony Lyons Sr.
The charges stem from an incident that happened on Sunday night near Harris Road in Champaign County.
The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible domestic dispute around 9:05 after a report said Lyons was making threats towards his father.
In responding to the incident, officers seized a black handgun and magazine as well as 16 rounds of 9mm ammo to be logged for evidence. The stolen firearm, a Ruger black handgun, was also recovered.
Court records indicate that Lyons was seen on video in connection with the incident.
He is spending time in the Tri-County Jail.
Pretrial is scheduled for October 7th at 1:00 PM.
