Wednesday, at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, Logan County Democrats gathered for the campaign kick-off for Victoria Maddox.

Maddox is running for Ohio State Representative District 85, against Republican Tim Barhorst.

She talks about her background and why you should vote for her this November:

She spoke to the small group gathered about how she would like to see several changes at the Statehouse, and how she plans to implement several changes, starting by listening to the constituents’ concerns in her district.

Maddox said she wants to serve the district with their agenda, not hers.

She feels that there is a housing crisis and wants to pass a bill that bans corporations from purchasing single-family housing.

Her thought would be that if that were to pass, it would help with supply and demand because many of those homes sit empty due to cost.

Thus driving up the housing costs in our area, making housing hardly affordable.

Maddox went on to say that the government should not be able to dictate what happiness looks like. ie; “Who you are with, how many kids you have, what your medical decisions are…that’s none of their business. I want to be able to protect that because, right now, they are not.”

Recently Maddox received campaign funds from Blue Ohio.

David Pepper, leader of Blue Ohio, is the former Chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party. He talks about what Blue Ohio is and why they chose to support Maddox:
