In a media release on Friday, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office said that on Wednesday, the Logan County Unified Drug Task Force, along with detectives from the Bellefontaine Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on County Road 130 in Bellefontaine.

During the operation, 34-year-old Joseph Clifford, the homeowner, was arrested on a felony warrant for trafficking in cocaine.

Law enforcement discovered a gallon-sized plastic bag covered in cocaine residue next to the toilet, as well as a large quantity of what is believed to be illegally pressed pills containing narcotics inside the toilet.

Additional items seized included a significant amount of psilocybin mushrooms, various pills, approximately $28,221 in cash, and a handgun.

Authorities say the operation was the result of a month-long investigation.

Requests for additional charges have been forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
