A man was arrested Thursday evening after a reported sexual offense at the Walmart on South Main Street in Bellefontaine.
Officers were called to the store just before 6:00 PM after an employee reported that a female customer had been sexually assaulted by a male who was still inside the building.
The suspect was described as wearing a black jacket and hat, with red hair in a ponytail.
Upon arrival, officers found and detained Kory Maestle, 20, of Bellefontaine, inside the store.
According to the victim, she noticed Maestle following her through multiple areas of the store, including the baby section, hunting department, and grocery area.
She then went to the electronics department, where a friend worked.
As she turned toward her friend, Maestle allegedly grabbed her backside and then quickly walked away.
A Walmart employee also reported that another woman claimed the same suspect had grabbed her, though she left the store before officers arrived.
Officers reviewed store surveillance footage, which reportedly showed Maestle walking closely behind the victim before reaching out and grabbing her.
Maestle was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was lodged on a charge of sexual imposition, a third-degree misdemeanor.
