According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, a man is facing gun-related charges after an incident Friday night on the city’s west side.
Officers were called to a home on the 400 block of Clark Avenue just before 10:30 PM on a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found Walter Crawford, 69, outside his residence.
Investigators say Crawford fired a handgun at another person after an argument in the carport next to his home.
Crawford appeared intoxicated and admitted to discharging the weapon to scare off the other person.
After talking with witnesses, police placed Crawford under arrest.
They found a spent .22-caliber shell casing in the carport and later a .22 pistol inside the home.
No injuries were reported.
Crawford was charged with using weapons while intoxicated and discharging firearms within city limits.
