According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, a man was seriously injured Tuesday night.
Deputies say Richie Austin, 52, of Rushsylvania, was driving a 2009 Ford southbound on County Road 9 shortly before 11:00 p.m. when he struck Todd Spears, 56, of Kenton, who was lying in the roadway working on a broken-down vehicle in the southbound lane.
After hitting Spears, Austin’s vehicle also struck a parked 2004 Honda driven by Brieona Spears, 30, of Perrysburg, which was facing northbound in the southbound lane.
According to the report, the disabled vehicle did not have any lights on at the time of the crash.
Austin reportedly swerved in an attempt to avoid the collision.
Todd Spears was taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with serious injuries.
A young boy who was a passenger in the Spears vehicle was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital by Rushcreek EMS for possible injuries.
No citations were issued.
