Mary Rutan Health celebrated the opening of the 3rd floor of the Health Center today with an official Ribbon Cutting celebration and tour. Those in attendance learned about the expansion and the growing service lines within Mary Rutan Health and took in the views from the highest point in Ohio.

It’s been nearly five years since the first and second floors opened at the Mary Rutan Health Center.  The third floor was originally an unfinished shell space.  “We knew early in the master facility planning process that this extra space would be vital to our growth and expansion in the years to come. Today, we are excited to complete the Health Center with the opening of the 3rd floor, and we welcome Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, ENT, Neurology, Audiology and Podiatry to their new home,” said Chad Ross, President & CEO of Mary Rutan Health.

Our $4 million investment in completing the 3rd floor of the Health Center includes 21 private exam and procedure rooms, onsite imaging, and a great waiting space offering a soothing environment that promotes healing and enhances the patient experience.  “We want this to be a leading destination for comprehensive healthcare services in our community.  Quite frankly, we also believe this overall facility accomplishes our goal of creating a modern and favorable impression on all people who visit or even pass by on the roads,” said Ross.

In addition to those benefits, this 18,000-square-foot space has allowed Mary Rutan Health to grow our provider base and continue to offer specialty services rarely seen in a community of our size.  Those services include:

  • Orthopedics and Sports Medicine has a robust group of four orthopedic surgeons that include Dr. Nicholas Peters, Dr. Jason Anane-Sefah, Dr. Frank Fumich and Dr. Steven Haman.  In addition, physician assistant Joe Fawcett and Certified Athletic Trainers Steven Klien and Tiffany Roe provide further support to our team. Collectively, this group of great physicians and professionals provides specialists in hand, spine, trauma, joint replacement, sports medicine and an array of surgical procedures.  With the opening of this new space, we are also pleased to add Podiatry to our service line and welcome Dr. Eric Anderson, who will join this outstanding group and will start seeing patients here next month.
  • Our Mary Rutan Ear, Nose & Throat team continues to keep pace with the growing need for this service line in our community.  This month, ENT surgeon Dr. Gordon Katz has joined Dr. Kimberly Klapchar and Dr. Clifton Hood.  Audiology has grown, too, with the recent addition of Audiologist Samantha Mogan, who joins Erica Elsasser.
  • Rounding out our service lines on the 3rd floor is Neurology.  We are fortunate to have Neurologist Dr. Ann Mclean and have recently welcomed certified nurse practitioner Matthew Hillery to our neurology team.

While we celebrate the completion of the construction project, we are pleased not only to be offering growth in the way of this new space but also excited to be able to offer this growth with the addition of these highly trained, specialized providers.

Ross addressed the guests and thanked them for joining in the celebration. “Thank you for joining us today as we celebrate this milestone on the heels of our grand opening of the Goble Center for Women & Children last Friday.  As we talk about Mary Rutan in the future, we will be emphasizing the importance of ‘shop local’ when it comes to healthcare, much like our community has embraced that concept for other expenditures.  The success of downtown Bellefontaine, downtown Lakeview, and other areas are perfect examples of this dynamic.  Of course, we at Mary Rutan need to do our part in the suggestion to ‘buy local’ by providing quality services and pleasant locations for those services to occur.  This is an example of our commitment to being the provider of choice for these areas of specialty and we are honored to continue to invest in the healthcare needs of our community.”
