Marysville Post announces Trooper of the Year

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Marysville Post has named Trooper Abdullah S. Ahmed as its 2025 Trooper of the Year.

Ahmed, 25, of Columbus, was selected by his peers in recognition of his leadership, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, strong work ethic, and cooperation with both colleagues and the public.

He joined the Patrol in 2022 and has served at the Marysville Post for the entirety of his career.

A native of Baghdad, Iraq, Ahmed immigrated to the United States and became a U.S. citizen in 2019.

He graduated from Whetstone High School in 2018 and later attended Columbus State Community College.

Throughout his service, Trooper Ahmed has earned the Patrol’s health and physical fitness award, the traffic safety award, and has served as a field training officer.

Ahmed is one of the troopers who serves Logan County.
