The following is a press release from State Representative Ty Mathews:

State Representative Ty Mathews has announced the launch of his reelection campaign to the Ohio House of Representatives, serving the 83rd District, which encompasses Hancock, Hardin, and northern Logan counties.

As Vice Chair of the House Veteran and Military Development Committee, and a member of the Development, Government Oversight, and Natural Resources committees, he has brought principled leadership to the opportunities and challenges facing Ohio.

“Serving the people of the 83rd House District is a great honor,” said Rep. Mathews. “I’m running for re-election because there’s much more work to do. Strengthening our communities, keeping government spending and regulation in check, protecting taxpayers, growing good-paying jobs, and ensuring our District remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family is an on-going duty and responsibility”, he added.

A lifelong resident of the 83rd District, Mathews holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cedarville University and a Master’s degree in Executive Leadership from Liberty University. He also serves with distinction as an officer in the Ohio National Guard. Mathews resides in Findlay with his wife, Landry, where they are awaiting the birth of their first child this year. The couple is actively involved in community life, including participation in their local churches and service organizations.

Under Rep. Mathews’ leadership and advocacy, he has accomplished the following during his first term in office:

Legislation to protect student-athletes’ Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights was signed into law, setting new standards for fairness and accountability in collegiate athletics.

Targeted support for first responders was secured, including funding for treatment programs for those suffering from post-traumatic stress injuries.

Sponsored or cosponsored an extensive list of legislation focused on economic development, international trade, defense industry growth and innovation, government efficiency, tax reform, and local community empowerment.

Mathews’ re-election campaign will focus on a clear set of priorities shaped by the needs of the District including, but not limited to:

Upholding conservative principles — defending liberty, the Second Amendment, and parental rights.

Protecting life, faith, and family values.

Strengthening and expanding the 83rd Ohio House District’s and the State’s share and role in international trade.

Advancing his Ohio Defense Initiative (“ODI”) to address national security threats and position Ohio as the home for the defense industry, driving economic growth, and ensuring long-term prosperity and resilience of the District’s communities.

Continuing to set an example of public service with integrity, values, and character.

“I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish in a short amount of time”, exclaimed Mathews. “If the citizens of the District vote to keep me in office, I’m confident we can continue delivering results for families, businesses, farms, and communities across the District, and advance conservative principles while protecting faith, family, and freedom.
