A Bellefontaine woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police say they found crack cocaine in her car during a traffic stop.

Around 2:00 p.m., officers saw 46-year-old Christine McComas driving a Honda Accord on North Main Street.

They knew McComas did not have a valid driver’s license and pulled her over.

As officers spoke with McComas, she claimed she didn’t know she wasn’t allowed to drive and admitted she only had an ID card.

When she couldn’t find her identification, officers requested to search her vehicle.

During the search, McComas said there was nothing illegal in the car; however, officers found two small white pieces near the driver’s seat that looked like crack cocaine.

An officer then tested the substance, and the test revealed it was indeed cocaine.

McComas was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail, where she was booked on drug possession charges.
