A Bellefontaine man is facing serious charges after a search of his home uncovered several firearms and illegal substances.

The man, 41-year-old Steven T. McMillen, is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have guns because of his past drug and violent crime convictions.

Wednesday evening, detectives from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office went to McMillen’s home with a search warrant.

When they first spoke with McMillen, he denied having any guns in the house.

However, he later admitted to having “a few guns.”

He claimed the guns were not his, but that they were kept at his home for friends who came to shoot on his property.

McMillen was arrested without any problems and charged with Having Weapons While Under Disability, a third-degree felony.

He was taken to the Logan County Jail.

During the search, detectives found nearly a dozen guns, cash, and drugs.

The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges could follow.
