Bellefontaine High School is excited to welcome Lauren Houseman as its new assistant principal. Houseman joins the BHS team after dedicating 16 years to Springfield City Schools, where she made significant contributions in various roles.

Houseman began her career as a seventh-grade English Language Arts teacher, a position she held for a decade. She then transitioned to a junior high instructional coach role, which she excelled in for six years.

Reflecting on her new role, Houseman shares, “Everyone has been very kind and welcoming. The school has a community feel that I really appreciate. I was ready for a change, and it was time for the next step in my career.”

In her initial weeks at BHS, Houseman is focused on building relationships with students and staff and fostering a positive school culture.

Outside of work, Houseman enjoys spending quality time with her family, reading, and running. She and her husband, Justin, have four children ranging in age from 5 to 21.

Houseman steps into her new role following Cliff Core, who has been promoted to BHS principal.
