Urbana police arrested a Miamisburg man Sunday evening after a series of incidents that began with the theft of alcohol and escalated into disorderly conduct and damage to police property.

On November 17 at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to Pappy’s, located at 832 Miami Street, for a reported theft. Employees told police that a suspect had taken a bottle of alcohol and left the store before officers arrived.

At 6:19 p.m., police responded to a second call at 835 S. Main Street, where a man was reported to be kicking a door and yelling vulgar profanities. When officers arrived in the area, they heard a male voice shouting and soon found an individual passed out in a nearby alleyway. Police described the suspect as heavily intoxicated and noted that his clothing matched the description from the earlier theft at Pappy’s.

The man was identified as Kevin May, 42, of Miamisburg, and officers determined he was responsible for both the alcohol theft and the disorderly incident on S. Main Street. May was taken into custody and transported to the Urbana Police Division for booking. While inside an interview room, police say May caused further damage by ripping a soundboard from the wall.

May was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail on multiple charges, including criminal damaging rcriminal mischief, theft, and disorderly conduct. The case remains under review.
