A routine patrol in Bellefontaine led to the arrest of a local man Saturday afternoon after police observed erratic driving, including failure to use turn signals and crossing into the turn lane.

Around 4:30 PM, officers saw a white Lexus sedan make several traffic violations while traveling through the city.

The vehicle turned onto Blair Avenue without using a turn signal and made a wide turn onto North Main Street, again failing to signal and briefly entering the turn lane.

The driver, identified as Aaron Miller, 58, of Bellefontaine, eventually pulled over near the intersection of North Main and Dowell Avenue after officers activated emergency lights.

As police spoke with him, they noticed several signs of intoxication.

Miller admitted to drinking earlier in the day and then failed several field sobriety tests.

He was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence.

Miller was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he submitted to a breath test and registered a blood alcohol content of .08, which is the legal limit in Ohio.

Authorities were later informed that Miller is currently on probation, his probation officer was contacted, and a probation violation was filed.
