The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that 71-year-old Glenna Downey, who was the subject of an “Endangered Missing Adult” alert earlier Wednesday, has been located safe and sound.
The alert was issued after officers were called to a home on Eastern Avenue just before 12:30 AM.
The complainant reported that her mother, Mrs. Downey, had left her residence around 8:30 PM Tuesday to return home to Lakewood Drive but never arrived.
She was last seen wearing a gray short-sleeve shirt and jean shorts, driving a gray 2014 Kia Sportage with Ohio plate JVH9913, and accompanied by her small Yorkie dog.
Family members were especially concerned because Downey is diabetic.
A statewide BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was issued, and Downey was entered into the LEADS system as an endangered missing adult due to her age and medical condition.
Authorities say she has now been found and is safe.
