A report of suspicious behavior at the Dollar General in Huntsville led to the arrest of a Missouri woman Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday, shortly before 3:00 PM, Logan County dispatch received a call from a store clerk who reported that two women were repeatedly entering and exiting the store with large bags and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
When deputies arrived at the store, they found a woman, later identified as 30-year-old Sarah Moro, standing outside a white pickup truck parked out front.
Moro admitted to recently using methamphetamine and showed signs of impairment.
She was detained and placed in the cruiser, where she complained of shortness of breath.
She admitted to medics at the scene that she had taken five fentanyl pills.
She was then transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
When deputies searched the patrol car where Moro had been sitting, they found a clear plastic bag containing what appeared to be methamphetamine.
The bag later tested positive for the drug and weighed approximately 9.76 grams.
Cruiser camera footage later confirmed that Moro had pulled an item from her clothing and appeared to hide it behind the seat.
She was also seen pushing a second item—later recovered as a red metal straw with drug residue—under the front seat of the cruiser.
After being checked at the hospital, Moro was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
She faces the following charges:
- Possession of Controlled Substances – 3rd-degree felony
- Obstructing Justice – 5th-degree felony
- Tampering with Evidence – 3rd-degree felony
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 4th-degree misdemeanor
She is also being held on warrants out of Missouri.
