Bellefontaine resident Ashley Moore was honored by the Logan County Commissioners in a ceremony in the commissioners’ office on Thursday morning. Moore was presented with a flag that had flown over the Logan County Courthouse during the month of July 2025.
Moore served in the United States Navy from 2004 to 2012. During her enlistment, she was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed
Forces Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy “E” Ribbon, and several other honors.
Moore, a graduate of Indian Lake High School in 2003, speaks about what it means to be honored for her service:
Her duty stations included Japan, Okinawa, Cambodia, and Sicily, Italy.
Guests included Susan and Larry Miller, Connie and Donovan Hughes, and representatives from the Logan County Veterans’ Services Commission Shelley Kneece, Laurie Varner, and Amy Ricketts.
