A driver was cited and hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Urbana, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Springfield Post responded at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, to a possible injury crash on Hickory Grove Road near the intersection with U.S. 68 in Champaign County.
A preliminary investigation found that a 2013 Honda Pilot, operated by Cameron Smith, 23, of Plain City, was traveling eastbound on Hickory Grove Road when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a concrete post.
Smith was transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Health – Urbana Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Smith was found to be at fault and was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control of a motor vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation by the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
