Motorcyclist severely injured in animal-related crash

A motorcyclist was severely injured after striking a deer Monday morning just before 5:30.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports David Rogers, 30, of DeGraff, was driving north on County Road 63 when a deer ran in front of his motorcycle. He hit the deer, causing him to be thrown from the bike.

Rodgers, who was wearing a helmet, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by DeGraff EMS.

His motorcycle suffered heavy damage.
