The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office reports that a stabbing incident early Wednesday morning left one man dead.
Just after midnight, the Hardin County Central Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call regarding the incident.
Deputies responding to the scene found 48-year-old James Collins of Mt. Victory in the street with multiple stab wounds.
Collins was treated by EMTs from the Southeast Hardin Northwest Union Fire Department and transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities took 46-year-old Andrew McCafferty, also of Mt. Victory, into custody.
Charges are pending.
The Hardin County Prosecutor, Coroner, Southeast Hardin Northwest Union Fire Department, and Route 31 Towing assisted at the scene.
