Firefighters from multiple departments, led by the Rosewood Volunteer Fire Department, responded Tuesday afternoon to a residential structure fire on State Route 29.
Crews were dispatched at approximately 3:27 p.m. after a neighbor reported heavy fire conditions at a residence. The homeowner was not at the home at the time and was reported to be at work.
Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours while working in freezing weather conditions.
Mutual aid was provided by the JSP Fire District, West Liberty Fire Department, and Quincy-Miami Township Fire and EMS. All of the departments involved are staffed entirely by volunteer firefighters.
No injuries were reported. A damage assessment is underway, and the cause of the fire has not yet been released.
