SHARE NOW

Drivers in Logan County should prepare for several new road closures and ongoing lane restrictions starting next week, as the Ohio Department of Transportation continues construction and maintenance work throughout the area.

All work is weather permitting.

New Closures

State Route 274 will close between County Road 35 and Township Road 53 beginning Monday, August 4, through Friday, August 8, for a culvert replacement project. Drivers will be detoured via westbound State Route 274 to State Route 65, west on State Route 47, and north on State Route 235.

State Route 559 will also close during that same timeframe, between County Road 44 and Township Road 258, for culvert replacement. The posted detour will route drivers east on State Route 245, then to State Route 287 and back to State Route 559.

Ongoing Lane Restrictions

  • State Route 47 between County Road 35 and Township Road 21A remains under lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, as crews complete finishing work from a recent bridge replacement. This project is expected to last through September.
  • State Route 273 between U.S. 68 and the Union/Logan County line continues to be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. as paving work continues. Flaggers are directing traffic, and the project is set to wrap up this fall.
  • Another portion of State Route 273, between Oakridge Drive and Shady Lane, is reduced to one lane through October as a bridge is being replaced. A temporary traffic signal is in place.
  • State Route 274, between U.S. 68 and Sandusky Street, and State Route 292, between Hamilton Street and State Route 47, also remain under intermittent lane restrictions for repaving work. Crews are active from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays through September.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for travel and use caution in work zones.
