According to the Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department, on Friday night, just after 9:00 PM, they were called to a report of a possible house fire on Long Island.

Richland Township Fire and BMRT Ambulance District were also dispatched.

As crews were heading to the scene, several 911 calls came in, and an Indian Lake EMS medic in the area reported that multiple homes were on fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found three multi-story homes burning.

One was fully on fire, one was about 70% involved, and another was about 20% involved.

A fourth house had also started to catch fire.

Fire crews began working right away, using several hose lines to put out the flames.

Medics set up a rehab area to treat firefighters and monitor their condition.

More help was called in as the fire continued to grow.

After several hours, the fire was contained.

The last crews left around 3:00 AM on Saturday.

_______________________________________

Friday night, around 9:00 PM, multiple fire departments were called to Long Island on reports of a fire.

Crews are on the scene battling multiple structure fires, according to scanner traffic.

Several area fire departments responded, including Huntsville, Bellefontaine, Belle Center, Indian Lake, and other surrounding areas.

Tankers have also been deployed from neighboring departments to provide an additional water supply.

High winds in the area are complicating efforts and contributing to the rapid spread of the fire.

As of this time, it is unclear how many structures have been affected or if there are any injuries.

Authorities have not released an official statement, but residents are urged to avoid the area to allow emergency crews full access to the scene.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
