On Wednesday morning around 9:50, officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Ludlow Road regarding an adult male who was naked out in public.
The male was spotted by his neighbor coming out of the creek area across the street from his residence.
Officers arrived and met with the neighbor who had provided the male with a blanket prior to police arriving at the scene.
Shannon VanHoose, 47, was identified and officers could not discern why he had removed his clothes prior to leaving his house.
VanHoose’s girlfriend at the home explained he has been suffering from some mental health issues but did not realize he had departed the house naked. She said she knew he was asleep on the living room couch.
A warrant check on VanHoose revealed he was wanted by the Sidney Police Department for failing to appear on traffic-related charges.
The warrant was confirmed through L.E.A.D.S., and he dressed and was placed under arrest.
VanHoose was transported to the Logan County Jail.
He was charged with failure to appear; issuance of a warrant.
