Since 1998, CASA of Logan County has been recruiting, training, and supporting community volunteers who serve as strong voices for children experiencing abuse and neglect.

CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, provides trained volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for a child’s best interests in court.

These volunteers stay with each case from start to finish — until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home.

The program serves children from birth through the age allowed by state law for youth in care.

Volunteers work closely with legal and child welfare professionals, educators, and service providers to ensure judges have the full picture when making important decisions about a child’s future.

CASA’s advocacy is guided by the belief that children grow and thrive best with their family of origin when it can be done safely.

While many of the children served are in foster care, some remain with their families, and most who leave foster care eventually return home.

The CASA of Logan County team and the Logan County Family Court have also announced Erica Cluck as the program’s new director.

Cluck joined News Director April King on Sunday’s Listen Up! show on 98.3 WPKO:

Her leadership is rooted in deep community connections and guided by a strong faith, leading her to serve with compassion, integrity, and dedication to the well-being of local children.

Cluck says she looks forward to working with partners across Logan County and beyond to strengthen advocacy efforts and help more children find safety, stability, and hope.

She says she is honored and grateful to step into the role and is focused on supporting CASA volunteers and advocating for children in need throughout the community.

CASA of Logan County continues to encourage community members to learn more about becoming a volunteer and making a lasting difference in a child’s life.
