A brand new fire engine was involved in a crash during a test drive Tuesday afternoon in Logan County.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 68 and Township Road 30.
Deputies say a 2019 Ford Transit, driven by 62-year-old Gregory Wroten of Bellefontaine, was stopped at a stop sign on Township Road 30.
At the same time, a 2026 Sutphen Custom Fire Engine, driven by 47-year-old Brad Fleming of Urbana, was traveling southbound on U.S. 68.
Reports say Wroten pulled into the intersection and struck the driver’s side of the fire engine.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
Wroten was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
The fire engine sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
The Ford Transit suffered functional damage and was towed.
