Drivers in Champaign County should expect several road projects to cause closures and lane restrictions this week.
The Ohio Department of Transportation says State Route 161 between Bean Road and Bullard-Rutan Road will be closed Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2 as crews replace a culvert.
The detour will take drivers east on State Route 161, south on State Route 559 and west on State Route 29.
Crews will also continue repaving work on State Route 55 between Old Troy Pike and U.S. 68. The highway will be reduced intermittently to one lane from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through early October, with flaggers controlling traffic.
On State Route 29 between State Route 235 and State Route 560, intermittent single-lane restrictions will remain in place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September as crews continue repaving.
There will also be intermittent lane restrictions on State Route 245 between Brush Lake Road and Gilbert Road, with work scheduled from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September.
And on U.S. 68 between State Route 55, or Lewis B. Moore Drive, and Springfield Pike, crews are resurfacing the roadway. Lane restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. as needed through the fall.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, watch for crews and allow extra time when traveling through these work zones.
