According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, a minor crash involving a Riverside School Bus happened Friday morning around 7:45 a.m. at the State Route 235/State Route 47 roundabout.
A teenage female driver in a Ford Explorer, heading north on S.R. 235, entered the roundabout and struck the bus on the passenger side.
Riverside Superintendent Scott Mann said both the bus and the SUV were headed to the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center at the time.
Several students were on the bus.
All were safely transferred to another bus and taken to school.
The SUV sustained front-end damage and was initially loaded for towing, but the driver chose to drive it from the scene.
“This morning, during transit to Hi-Point Career Center, a driver slid into one of our buses in the roundabout at the intersection of 235 and 47,” Mann said. “No injuries were sustained, and a spare bus was dispatched to take the students to school. Unfortunately, the weather came in late, which caused slippery conditions. We have to make the call by 6:00 a.m. when buses leave for their routes.”
No other details have been released at this time.
