One of the two crashes previously reported on early Friday morning was a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 33 that ended without injuries.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, just after 6:00 a.m., deputies responded to a collision involving a semi-truck and an SUV in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 33 near County Road 10.
Investigators say Justin Hollon, 29, of Hilliard, was driving a 2025 Kenworth semi eastbound on U.S. 33 when it was struck in the right front corner by a 2021 Mazda CX-5 that was merging onto the highway from County Road 10.
The Mazda, driven by Max Smith, 25, of Bellefontaine, continued off the road after the impact and came to rest in the median.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported by either driver.
Smith was cited for a lane of travel violation (left of center) as a result of the crash.
