Friday, shortly after 5:00 PM, Russells Point Police saw a black sedan turn from the Village Pantry gas station on North Orchard Island Road with its taillights not working.

Officers tried to pull the car over just past Main Street, but the driver kept going and turned on his hazard lights.

He eventually stopped on Park Street after waving his arm out the window.

The driver, 19-year-old Junior Santos, and the passenger, Herbin Rivas, were taken out of the car and identified.

Santos said he kept driving because he needed to get to his job site.

Officers found that Santos did not have a valid driver’s license and was also under a hold by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Santos was taken to the Logan County Jail and charged with failing to obey a police officer, driving without a license, and driving without taillights.

Rivas was released from the scene.
