Several construction projects are expected to affect state highways in Champaign County next week, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

A new closure will begin Monday, August 17, on State Route 235 between U.S. 36 and Wolcott Road/Hellton Road.

The highway will be closed through Friday, August 21, while crews replace several culverts.

The posted detour will take motorists south on State Route 235, east on U.S. 36, south on State Route 56 and west on State Route 55.

Beginning Tuesday, August 18, U.S. 68 between State Route 55, also known as Lewis B. Moore Drive, and Springfield Pike will have lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The restrictions will remain in place through fall 2026 as crews resurface the roadway. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when necessary.

Several other projects will continue to affect Champaign County roads.

State Route 55 between Old Troy Pike and U.S. 68 will intermittently be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through August.

Crews are repaving the roadway, and flaggers will maintain traffic.

State Route 29 between State Route 235 and State Route 560 will also have intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September.

The project involves repaving the roadway.

State Route 245 between Brush Lake Road and Gilbert Road will have similar intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September as crews repave the highway.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution in work zones, allow extra travel time, and follow posted signs and flagging operations.
