ODOT announces road construction in Logan and Champaign Counties

Several construction projects and road closures are expected to affect highways in Logan and Champaign counties this week.

In Logan County, State Route 559 will close between State Route 287 and County Road 158 for 15 days beginning Wednesday, September 16.

Crews will reconstruct the roadway.

The detour will use State Route 559, State Route 245, U.S. 33 north, State Route 739, and State Route 287.

Several paving projects will also continue in Logan County, with intermittent single-lane restrictions on State Route 235, State Route 274, and State Route 366 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through the fall.

Restrictions also remain on State Route 117, State Route 245, State Route 287 and State Route 638 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the end of the month.

State Route 274 also remains closed between State Route 235 and State Route 117 as crews construct a roundabout at the State Route 274 and U.S. 33 intersection.

The detour uses State Route 235, State Route 708, U.S. 33 and State Route 117.

The Village of North Lewisburg will also close State Route 245/559 and Sycamore Street Wednesday, September 16, for a festival.

Paving work will continue on State Route 55, State Route 29 and State Route 245, with intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September.

U.S. 68 will also have lane restrictions between State Route 55 and Springfield Pike from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the fall as crews resurface the roadway.

ODOT says all work is weather permitting and advises motorists to use caution in work zones.
