ODOT announces road work in Champaign County

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has announced several new and upcoming road projects in Champaign County that will impact local traffic beginning this week.

  • State Route 29State Route 4, and State Route 559 in Mechanicsburg will be reduced to a single lane due to resurfacing projects. Flaggers will maintain traffic flow, with work expected to continue through July 2025.
  • State Route 245 will be closed between Slate Stone Road and Kennard Kingscreek Road from April 13 to May 20 for bridge repairs. A detour using State Route 507, U.S. 68, and State Route 296 will be in place.

Upcoming Closures:

  • State Route 4 Railway Crossing between Maple Grove Road and Walnut Street will be closed April 21–28 for railroad crossing work. Drivers should use State Route 56 and State Route 29 as a detour.
  • State Route 296 will be closed from May 12 through the end of the month between Bates Road and Upper Valley Pike for bridge work. A detour will direct traffic via U.S. 68, Miami Street, and Oakland Street.
