Drivers across Ohio are paying more at the pump, with AAA reporting that this is the most expensive August on record for gasoline prices in the state.
The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Ohio is now about $4.12, according to AAA.
That’s up from an average of about $3.91 per gallon last week.
Here in Logan County, prices are somewhat lower, with regular gasoline currently ranging from about $3.86 to $3.90 per gallon.
In Champaign County, prices are ranging from about $4.06 to $4.12 per gallon.
AAA says uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz is helping push crude oil prices higher, which is translating into higher prices at the pump.
The increase is especially noticeable for businesses that use large amounts of fuel.
For local drivers, it pays to shop around before filling up.
Gas prices can vary considerably from one station to another, even within the same county.
