Ohio Hi-Point Celebrates 50th Anniversary

The Ohio Hi-Point Career Center celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Thursday afternoon with a vibrant Recognition Ceremony, honoring decades of educational impact in the community.

The event began with student Carter Kreglow, OHP/Riverside Business, welcoming a distinguished group of guests, including State Representatives Susan Manchester and Tim Barhorst, board members, local community leaders, and Jeremy Varner, Deputy Director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.

Attendees enjoyed a tour of the campus, showcasing the various career programs that have transformed the lives of countless students over the years. After the tour, guests gathered in the meeting room for the formal ceremony.

Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Board of Education President Anne Reames addressed the crowd, expressing gratitude for the community’s ongoing support.

Superintendent Rick Smith also thanked attendees for their encouragement and shared plans for the center’s future. He announced a special dedication of a meeting room in honor of the late Herold Marker, whose significant contributions to the career center have left a lasting impact.

To commemorate this significant milestone, Ohio Hi-Point will host an All-Class Reunion and Community Event on Thursday, October 3, from 3 to 7:30 p.m. The celebration will include live music, local food trucks, program demonstrations, and opportunities for alumni and community members to reconnect and celebrate their shared history.

Guests are invited to explore the campus and learn about the various career programs that have played a pivotal role in the education and development of students over the past five decades. The milestone event promises to be a memorable occasion for all who attend.
