BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio – Ohio Hi-Point Career Center marked a significant milestone for over 230 seniors at their annual “What’s Your E?” Signing Day Ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

This event celebrated seniors who have committed to their post-graduation plans of being employed, enrolled, enlisted, or becoming an entrepreneur. In addition to celebrating the seniors, the ceremony also highlights the role of education in developing a skilled community workforce, ready to contribute to our local economy and society.

As a tradition, the juniors lined the hallways to clap in the seniors before the ceremony. Ohio Hi-Point staff honored guests, college representatives, military recruiters, and employers who were all in attendance for the ceremony.

Delanie Baustert, Vice President of National Salt Distributors, Inc., and Ben Vollrath, CEO of Logan County Chamber of Commerce, were the guest speakers for the event. Baustert encouraged the students to embrace every opportunity and to remain open to new experiences. Vollrath highlighted the unique contributions of each student, emphasizing their critical role in the success of the community and the importance of ongoing education.

After the guest speakers, the seniors signed a certificate of intent, indicating their commitment to their future endeavors.

“We are incredibly proud of our graduates as they embark on this exciting new chapter,” said Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Superintendent Dr. Rick Smith. “Today is more than a ceremony; it’s a launch pad into future careers, further education, and service to our nation.”

Of Ohio Hi-Point’s 233 seniors, 47.21% will be employed, 35.62% will be enrolled in further education, and 4/29% will be enlisted in the armed forces.

Ohio Hi-Point continues to support our leaders of tomorrow, celebrating their achievements and aspirations with the annual Signing Day.

The What’s Your E initiative was established as a collaborative effort between the Logan County Collaborative and all Logan County schools.
