On Thursday, the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center will conduct an active shooter drill in partnership with the Logan County Emergency Management Agency, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Bellefontaine Police Department, and Bellefontaine Fire and EMS.
The in-depth training exercise is designed to test and improve emergency response protocols.
School officials emphasized that while they hope a real situation never occurs, student safety is a top priority.
Families may notice a large number of emergency vehicles on campus or students walking to the YMCA to practice the school’s reunification process.
The drill is expected to be complete by 11:30 AM.
