Ohio Hi-Point Career Center will host a YouScience Family Information Night on Wednesday, March 18, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. at Ohio Hi-Point, 2280 St. Rt. 540, Bellefontaine.
Freshman and sophomore students and their families are invited to learn how YouScience supports academic and career planning by helping students better understand their natural strengths and how those strengths connect to potential career pathways.
During the session, Ohio Hi-Point and YouScience representatives will explain how to read aptitude results and how those results align with potential careers, college majors, and training opportunities.
Ohio Hi-Point provides YouScience® Brightpath, an education-to-career platform, to OHP’s 14 partner school districts at no cost. By combining aptitude and interest assessments, YouScience helps students identify their natural talents and connect them to careers and training opportunities that align with their abilities and interests.
Students complete the YouScience assessment during their eighth-grade and sophomore years, giving them valuable insights as they plan their high school coursework and future career pathways. The results help students explore careers they may not have previously considered and support meaningful conversations with counselors, teachers, and families about next steps.
Families attending the information night will learn how to interpret their student’s results and how those insights can guide course selection and long-term planning.
Used in more than 7,000 educational institutions nationwide, YouScience is helping students, families, and educators have more conversations around career planning. National data shows that 80% of students report increased college and career readiness after completing the assessment, while many discover new career possibilities and gain greater confidence in planning their future.
