The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Parks and Watercraft has launched the America 250 – ODNR Challenge to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

The challenge runs through December 31, 2026.

Participants can choose between a 25‑mile family-friendly option or a 250‑mile challenge.

Trails are located in Ohio’s state parks, forests, nature preserves, and wildlife areas.

Hikers earn digital badges for completed hikes.

The 25‑mile challenge offers a sticker for finishing all miles.

The 250‑mile challenge includes a sticker at 25 miles and a commemorative coin for the first 250 participants to complete all 250 miles.

Participants can log miles at their own pace through OuterSpatial.

ODNR staff will contact participants about prizes via the email linked to their account.

ODNR manages Ohio’s 76 state parks and waterways, providing recreation, conservation, and outdoor education.
