Boaters looking to secure a seasonal dock slip at Indian Lake State Park for the 2026 season can now enter the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) dock lottery system.
The lottery process is consistent across all Ohio state parks with docks available for seasonal lease.
The application period runs October 1 through October 31, with results announced in November.
Winners will receive a contract in the spring, which may be renewed annually for up to five years.
Dock slips at Indian Lake are available at Blackhawk, Chippewa, and Moundwood marinas, and applications must be submitted online.
Entrants will need to provide a current boat registration and title (or acceptable proof of purchase for recent acquisitions).
A confirmation email will be sent once the entry is submitted.
Indian Lake Dock Lottery
- Applications are open October 1–31.
- Entrants will be informed of the results in November.
- Only one entry per park per boat, owner, or household is allowed.
- Even if an owner has more than one boat, they may not apply for more than one dock lottery at the same park.

Indian Lake Dock Options
- 20-foot docks accommodate boats up to 24 feet at Blackhawk, Chippewa, or Moundwood marinas.
- Seasonal lease cost: $500.
Key Rules for Dock Holders
- Docks must be appropriately sized for the boat listed on the contract.
- Contracts are valid for the designated boat only; updates must be made if a new boat of the same size is purchased.
- Docks cannot be subleased or transferred with the sale of a boat.
- Only the dock holder—the boat owner and primary user—may use the dock.
- Violations of contract rules may result in termination.
- A new contract and current registration information must be provided each year.
Dock Lottery Procedure:
- Applications are accepted only once per park per boat, owner, or household.
- A boat cannot be entered more than once for the same park, and owners with multiple boats may not apply for more than one dock size at a park. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.
- Applicants must submit their boat’s exact length in feet and inches. If the dock cannot accommodate the boat, the entry will be disqualified.
- Golden Buckeye Card numbers must be entered at the time of application to receive discounts.
- Current dock holders may apply for the lottery only in the final year of their contract, unless they cancel their existing agreement.
Existing dock holder contracts are mailed in February and must be paid in full by March 31.
Any unrenewed docks will be filled from the alternate list.
