Ohio voters will have a chance to commemorate America’s 250th birthday when they head to the polls this fall.
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose this week unveiled a limited-edition America 250 “I Voted” sticker celebrating the nation’s semiquincentennial and Ohio’s role in preserving and strengthening American democracy.
The commemorative sticker was introduced during the 2026 Ohio Secretary of State Annual Conference, where election officials from across the state gathered.
The design is intended to honor 250 years of American self-government while encouraging civic participation and voter engagement.
“As our nation prepares to celebrate 250 years of freedom, self-government, and civic participation, this special edition sticker serves as a reminder that every vote helps write the next chapter of the American story,” LaRose said. “For two and a half centuries, Americans have defended and advanced the principles that make our republic strong. This sticker recognizes that legacy while encouraging Ohioans to take part in one of our most important civic traditions—casting a ballot.”
The America 250 sticker is part of Ohio’s broader effort to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary and highlight the importance of citizen involvement in the democratic process. State officials noted that elections have served as the foundation of representative government since the country’s founding, giving Americans a voice in shaping their communities, state, and nation.
“The story of America is still being written,” LaRose added. “Every election provides an opportunity for citizens to make their voices heard and help determine the future of their communities. We hope Ohio voters will wear this sticker proudly as we celebrate this historic milestone together.”
Each of Ohio’s 88 county boards of elections will receive a limited supply of the commemorative stickers for distribution during the 2026 General Election.
Voters who cast ballots in person during early voting or on Election Day will receive a sticker while supplies last.
The United States will officially mark its 250th anniversary in 2026, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and celebrating a quarter millennium of American history.
